(May 1999)

Dear Paul,

I write this letter on behalf of my lovely wife and son. To be perfectly honest I am not sure where to start, none the less I will take you down memory lane when we first contacted you from Beijing. Your advertisement caught my eye and we decided to talk to this "so called agent". From then on time has flown so quickly that we have enjoyed doing business with you.

Paul, with glassy eyes and a heart filled with immense joy I can only quietly shout "YES" we made it. We have made the first step into a new country that we so longed for not only for ourselves but also for our beloved son, so that he can hopefully have some quality in his life unlike many others. He might not realize it today as he is too small, however one day we hope he will.

Paul, I started off by saying "so called agent" because we were ripped off USD 1000/ by one in XXXXX name Ms.XX, hence once bitten twice shy. This however "so Called agent" has been the wonder agent we would like to tell everyone and we will do so in our various conversations with our friends etc. The professional manner in which you have conducted yourself, the persistence of not giving up, the thinking outside the box and most importantly the caring attitude in which you have treated us goes way beyond our expectations and imagination ie: coming from a "so called agent". We realized this after we were turned down with our first application. We feel you have "raised the bar" to the meaning of a migration agent and sincerely hope many others follow suit. A very special mention about your wife Carol who only complements your work etichs and the "TLC" you'll give to your clients. Carol in her own way has either taken "off" the heat or given us a new meaning to trying till one succeeds. It is obvious both of you make a good pair and we pray this grows till eternity.

I have attached a copy of our passports and the visa which is stamped on them. We hope to make our first entry into Australia in October 1999 and not too sure when we will move our home to Melbourne, but for sure before the dead line of 2004.

I hope we can keep in touch with you where ever you and Carol are as we would very much like to do so. Our e-mail address is as follows and should this change we will keep you posted. Do let us know of any changes in your address and if we can be of any assistance it will only be a pleasure.

Once again on behalf of all of us we would like to thank both of you for all the hard work and with putting up with us for the past few years.

Warmest Regards

(January 2000)

Dear Paul I must thank you for help,
Paul. I am very glad I made use of your services - I certainly wouldn't have been able to put it all together otherwise. As far as fitting in the visit to the ACG, I think Monday morning (i.e. 24th Jan) would be the best time. I'll be in as early as you get to the office, so please tell me what time this will be and I'll be there. I can now think about what next, at last.

Regs.

(1998 - two UK clients who settled in Sydney)

Dear Paul,

Warmest greetings on a balmy Sydney morning. I trust this finds you and your family in good health and looking forward to the festive season....

A and I have settled fairly quickly and very successfully in Sydney. After initial frustrations - bank accounts, finding an apartment, buying a car etc.. - we are now happily living a couple of bays down from Bondi, and both working hard. I am doing some consulting work. A is working for a designer.

We continue to marvel at the fantastic scenery, topography, climate of this part of Australia. We live 2mins from the beach, and take every available opportunity to get in, on or under the water. It is a privilege to be able to swim in such astonishingly clean and clear water; the beaches are as magnificent as any I have seen in Asia. The sea life at our local beach is stunning - in the course of this year we have swum with penguins, shark, rays, sea snakes (all harmless) as well as myriad smaller critters. Of course the water is cold - but we are getting used to it - blurting out things like "it's really nice today" when the temperature creeps above 18C.

We are getting into Sydney's attractions, and find there is just the right mix of art, culture and entertainment to combine with the incredible range of food and cuisine. Fortunately, Chatswood where I am working has the Chinese groceries, dim sum, char siu and so on, so we can still get hold of our Cantonese favourites. The Asian food - Cambodian, Vietnamese, Malaysian - is, if anything, more authentic than I was able to find in HK, and we are only just beginning to explore the European, Middle Eastern options.

There are of course elements of HK we miss, but our quality of life has never been better, and for all the attractions of Sunday afternoons in Pacific Place (shops-cinema - dan ryans-etc...) we really do prefer sitting on a near deserted beach watching the surf pound the shore and the surfers. And hoping that we're not going to have to try and rescue some poor tourist whose previous experience of waves amounts to some speedboat wash at Repulse Bay...

I trust you are keeping your heads above water in these "interesting times".

I'm beginning to ramble, so will take this opportunity to again wish you all the best over Christmas, and to thank you again for all your help in getting us here.

With warmest regards,

J & A
